Web Design Companies Not Created Equal

Monday, April 6th, 2009

Not all web design companies are created equal.

If you are in the beginning stages of selecting a San Francisco Bay Area web designer you are going to want to consider the following.

You can choose a freelancer, a two person shop being run out of a basement, a mid size company, or a high end agency. While you may be tempted to hire a freelancer or two person shop because of the extremely low rates, keep in mind that you always get what you pay for and therein lies the problem. More and more I am seeing companies having their websites redesigned within 6-12 months because they were badly designed and are under performing.

So, what can a professional web design company offer you that you won’t get from a one or two person web design shop? The answer is the experience of an entire team. The individuals operating small web design shops have to wear so many different hats they can’t really specialize in the many different aspects of web design (Design, Usability, Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, Ecommerce, etc.)

The primary point of this article is that a successful website requires the input of many experts in the areas of design, programming, and marketing.
